John,
It’s been a busy week delivering on President Trump’s America First agenda,
but I wanted to update you on the other work we are doing to advance our
conservative values.
House Republicans passed a critical funding bill Tuesday evening, securing a
217 to 213 victory that President Trump called a “Big win for Republicans, and
America.” This legislation prevents a government shutdown and ensures continued
funding for essential services that millions of Americans rely on. But beyond
simply averting a shutdown, it delivers real, tangible support to the American
people. It provides nearly $10 billion to support ICE deportations, $6 billion
in defense spending, including a pay raise for junior enlisted troops, and $6
billion in veterans’ healthcare. It also ensures continued funding for child
nutrition, public safety, and other important services while cutting over $13
billion in non-defense spending. It’s unfortunate, but expected, that House
Democrats largely voted against public safety, veterans, and hardworking
American families in order to protect the status quo.
The Trump administration and Republican House leadership outmaneuvered Chuck
Schumer on funding the government for the rest of this fiscal year. Senate
Democrats faced the difficult choice of pleasing their base or shutting down
the federal government. They are learning that standing against the America
First agenda is a losing battle. House Republicans remain focused on delivering
results for the voters who gave us this trifecta. We did that and won this
round.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a warning about
the dangers of so-called “gender-affirming care.” For years, doctors across the
United States have performed irreversible chemical and surgical procedures on
minors under the guise of “helping” children. These life-altering interventions
leave young people permanently damaged, often without fully understanding the
long-term consequences. Republicans have been sounding the alarm on these
harmful medical practices since the beginning, and finally the CMS acknowledged
the serious risks they pose to children. I applaud President Trump for taking
executive action to stop these procedures on minors and CMS for taking steps to
ensure medical policies are guided by evidence, not WOKE ideology. As a nation,
we cannot stand by while our children are wrongfully led to undergo extreme and
irreversible medical interventions. Let’s continue to expose the risks and take
every possible step to protect our children.
Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin
announced a long-overdue fix to the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule,
following the U.S. Supreme Court’sSackett decision. This is a monumental
victory for farmers, ranchers, and rural communities who have suffered from
years of burdensome federal overreach and regulatory uncertainty. For too long,
vague and oppressive WOTUS rules allowed bureaucrats in Washington to dictate
land and water use, leaving farmers, ranchers, and developers in limbo. By
realigning federal water protections with the Supreme Court’sSackett ruling,
the EPA will finally cut unnecessary red tape, provide clarity, and return
water management decisions to state and local governments. Thanks to President
Trump’s strong leadership and his choice of Lee Zeldin to lead the EPA,
America’s landowners will finally get the relief they need.
As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. Don’t hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.
With gratitude,
