Tell Your Governor to Defend Medicaid Funding

Your Action Status: NOT YET SIGNED -> [ [link removed] ]Sign Now

Republicans in Congress are pushing for massive tax breaks for the rich
and think we should pay for them by cutting healthcare (and other critical
programs) for those who can least afford it.

Right now, Medicaid funding is on the chopping block at the federal level,
putting 72 million seniors, children, low-income families, pregnant
people, people with disabilities, young people newly in the workforce, and
people across America at risk of losing healthcare coverage.

The thing is, a massive cut to Medicaid like this will not just impact
healthcare, but entire state budgets! Medicaid makes up 30 percent of
state budgets, meaning cuts to federal support would force Governors in
both red and blue states to make impossible choices: slash healthcare for
those who need it most or gut other essential programs to fill the gap.

[ [link removed] ]Quick Signature: Tell your governor to stand up against reckless cuts
to Medicaid and protect healthcare for 72 million people.

Tell Congress to reject cuts to SNAP (Food Stamps)!

Your Action Status: NOT YET SIGNED -> [ [link removed] ]Sign Now

The Republican-led leadership in the U.S. Congress is proposing a bill
that will literally snatch food from the tables of hungry children and
hardworking families in order to give $4.5 trillion in tax cuts to the
super rich and mega-corporations. This proposed bill would drastically cut
the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP or food stamps), which
benefits approximately 40 million people, including parents, older adults,
disabled people, workers, and 1 out of every 5 children in our country.

hardworking families rely on to put food on the table!

Tell Congress: Medicaid cuts hurt kids’ mental health!

"I have a disabled son with autism and Medicaid is extremely important for
his health and mental health. It is a much-needed program. Please don't
cut this much-needed human right!"
- Marta from North Brunswick, NJ

Marta isn’t alone in having Medicaid coverage for her family: 72 million
Americans have access to healthcare through Medicaid. At the same time,
children across our nation are increasingly facing a mental health crisis,
a crisis which will only get worse if Republicans in Congress go forward
with their proposal to cut $880 billion from Medicaid. [1]

What’s happening? House Republicans are currently working to slash
Medicaid funding in order to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and wealthy
corporations. [2] These cuts would have a negative impact on half of all
U.S. children who get their health insurance through Medicaid. This
program is a lifeline for millions of children and families who get their
health and mental healthcare through Medicaid [3]. Our tax dollars should
go to helping kids—not making the rich richer!

QUICK SIGNATURE: We need an increase, not a decrease, in police accountability.
Congress must act now!

URGENT! President Trump removed a national database tracking police
misconduct, a dangerous move that weakens police accountability and
transparency and undoes the progress our movement has made.

The police officers responsible for the deaths of Tamir Rice, Breonna
Taylor, Sandra Bland, Philando Castile, and Eric Garner all had histories
of troubling and inappropriate behavior, including complaints of
unnecessary use of excessive force. In 2023, President Biden created the
National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD) to flag these
histories and to save precious lives.

Among a flurry of concerning actions to remove important government
functions, Trump’s Department of Justice has removed this database.

Moms want to raise our kids in safe and peaceful communities. Congress
must step in and reinstate the National Law Enforcement Accountability
Database (NLEAD) and give police departments a centralized resource to
prevent future tragedies.

reinstate the National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD)!
