Hundreds of experts working on critical programs, from stopping bird flu to preventing invasive species, are now gone. To top it off, Trump’s hiring freeze ensures there won’t be enough personnel anytime soon.
We’re already seeing the results of Donald Trump’s recklessness.
Import delays are slowing down food shipments. Scientists researching critical crop diseases have been fired mid-study, leaving their work unfinished. Veterinary inspectors essential to stopping outbreaks are gone. The Trump administration’s promise to “Make America Healthy Again” is hollow fiction; he’s only making our country less safe, less secure, and less prepared for whatever crises may be on the horizon.
