Weakness, chaos, and symbols. When we released "Flag of Treason," we could not have imagined the next day would feature dual dangers of Trump on full display.
First, the coward hid in his bunker tweeting out weak, petty insults and obsessing over his poll numbers.
Then, he gave an alarming speech threatening unconstitutional military action on U.S. citizens.
After the speech, he sent the Secret Service and military police to fire rubber bullets and tear gas at peaceful protesters just so he could have a contrived photo-op. Holding a Bible. In front of a church.
Let that sink in, John.
Donald Trump hijacked the symbol of a faith he can't comprehend—one of nonviolence and sacrificial love—to justify violence and silence his critics.
"I just can't believe what my eyes have seen," said the bishop of that church, on CNN. Those peaceful protestors "are rightfully demanding an end to 400 years of systemic racism and white supremacy in our country."
Here's "Flag of Treason" in case you missed it: John, this moment is swarming with symbols, so let's be clear about something: symbols matter—perhaps more so in politics than in any other domain.
The American flag is the ultimate symbol of the principles and democratic ideals upon which our Republic rests—including the principle of equal justice under the law.
The Confederate flag stands for treason, disunion, and the subjugation of Black Americans.
It is a blatant symbol of hate flown by some of Donald Trump's most zealous supporters. One he still refuses to condemn.
Now is a time for choosing, John.
🇺🇸 We're with America.
