Yes, Alex, it is significant, but the real work is just getting started. These rules need to be bulletproof, because the greens are going to bust out their Tommy guns.

Energy Now (3/14/25) commentary: "Did the EPA really just take the 'Biggest Deregulatory Action in U.S. History'? Arguably, yes. Here are 18 important deregulatory actions EPA announced today, and why they will make life better for all of us.
  1. “Reconsideration of regulations on power plants (Clean Power Plan 2.0)” These Biden regulations would effectively ban all coal plants and new natural gas plants by demanding impossible 90% carbon capture.¹Reconsidering them is essential to preserving the grid and unleashing electricity.
  2. “Reconsideration of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty vehicle regulations” These Biden regulations paved the way for the EV mandate by imposing unachievable emission standards on gas vehicles.²Reconsidering them is essential for preserving automotive choice.
  3. “Reconsideration of the 2009 Endangerment Finding” This Obama-era determination, by declaring CO2 dangerous, allowed Biden to shut down power plants, slow US oil growth, and lock up our limitless natural gas.³Reconsidering it is essential for American energy dominance.
  4. “Ending so-called ‘Good Neighbor Plan’” This Biden rule set ozone-related emissions levels so (unnecessarily) low that many vital coal power plants can’t comply—even though ozone levels are very low throughout the US.⁴Ending it is essential to preserving grid reliability."

Jonathan H. Adler, a conservative legal expert and professor of environmental law at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, said he did not believe the Trump administration would succeed.

“You’ve got to explain away decades of statements by every administration that there are negative consequences of climate change that can be reasonably anticipated,” Mr. Adler said.

He called the effort to unravel the endangerment finding “a good way to waste years of time and effort and accomplish nothing.”

The days of California and Washington trying to impose their green schemes on the rest of the states will soon come to an end.

OK Energy Today (3/13/25) reports: "Oklahoma U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin isn’t giving up on his fight against California and the EPA from telling vehicle buyers they can’t buy gas-powered vehicles. 'I will not sit back and allow the federal government to make purchasing choices for consumers in Oklahoma.' He’s reintroduced the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act to limit the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from issuing Clean Air Act (CAA) waivers for state policies seeking to ban or otherwise limit the sale of internal combustion engines. This legislation would preserve consumer choice and maintain competition in the automotive markets by ensuring Americans have access to reliable and affordable vehicles...'California’s waivers are not about clean energy, they are about control,' said Sen. Mullin. 'For four years, Washington Democrats worked to overregulate every aspect of Americans’ lives – including what car they drive. Now that President Trump is back in office, it’s critical we protect Americans’ freedom to choose what vehicle is best for themselves and their families and allow consumer choice to dictate the market.'...The Preserving Choice in Vehicles Act is endorsed by the following stakeholders: American Trucking Association (ATA), Western Energy Alliance, American Energy Alliance (AEA)."

Lisa Murkowski should be thanking Team Trump every single day for their relentless focus on getting Alaska back on track. We shall see...

It's the same old story for "somebody like him"...

Bloomberg (3/1/25) reports: "Mike Cannon-Brookes, an Australian billionaire known for his stance on climate change, said he has a deep internal conflict over the use of his private jet for travel. The co-founder of software giant Atlassian Corp. in a LinkedIn post said his plane helps him stay safe and that he’s more than offsetting the carbon footprint of his trips, reiterating his support for a future of sustainable energy. 'I’m not denying I have a deep internal conflict on this one,' he wrote following local media reports Thursday that he had bought a Bombardier Inc. jet. 'Personal security is the primary reason (an unfortunate reality of my world), but also so I can run a global business from Australia, and still be a constantly present dad.' The tech tycoon’s LinkedIn post also comes at a time of scrutiny following Atlassian’s recent move to sponsor F1 team Williams Racing, with the first race of the season in Melbourne on Sunday...While it’s far from unusual for ultra-wealthy business owners to fly on their own private planes, Cannon-Brookes’ position is notable due to his green-energy work. Through his investment firm Grok Ventures, he tried in 2022 to take over Australian energy provider AGL Energy Ltd. with an aim to accelerate its transition away from coal to more renewable sources."
