The Catalyst Communities Initiative [ [link removed] ] is a comprehensive program to provide education, training, planning, and technical resources to local governments as they work toward their sustainability goals. This initiative offers an array of resources on various environmental, social, and economic topics to help communities across Michigan make a just transition to decarbonization and meet our MI Healthy Climate Plan goals [ [link removed] ]. The initiative aims to provide a range of resource options to meet communities wherever they are, regardless of geography, population size, or pre-existing knowledge. The Michigan’s Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Catalyst Communities Initiative is hosting this webinar series free to communities.

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, Office of Rural Prosperity [ [link removed] ] offers programs and resources to help rural communities plan, collaborate, build capacity, and prepare for change. In this webinar, Sarah Lucas, Director of the Office of Rural Prosperity, will talk about the office’s programs, as well as best practices and success stories of innovative communities throughout Michigan that are using new models locally and regionally to build capacity and prepare for opportunity.
The Rural Readiness Program provides grant funding to assist in the expansion of rural development with community advancements and improvements in housing, infrastructure, education, workforce development, and more. Join us to hear how rural communities across Michigan can benefit from the programs offered by the Office of Rural Prosperity.
