Dear John,
For millions of refugees, Ramadan is a bittersweet time. It’s a season of reflection, but also a painful reminder of the homes, loved ones, and communities they were forced to leave behind. Right now, families in Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, Bangladesh and Sudan are struggling with unimaginable hardship. Many are unsure where their next meal will come from, let alone how they will break their fast. Saeedah, a displaced Yemeni mother, shares the painful reality of her life after being forced to flee her home, leaving everything behind. She says, "It was a very distressing time. We couldn’t take anything with us when we left, not even blankets or flour. We even left the doors open in our haste to leave." UNHCR teams are working around the clock to deliver more lifesaving assistance to refugee families like Saeedah's, providing cash assistance, shelter and safety. But this critical work is only possible with the help of supporters like you. |
