Dear John,

For millions of refugees, Ramadan is a bittersweet time. It’s a season of reflection, but also a painful reminder of the homes, loved ones, and communities they were forced to leave behind.

Right now, families in Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, Bangladesh and Sudan are struggling with unimaginable hardship. Many are unsure where their next meal will come from, let alone how they will break their fast.

Saeedah, a displaced Yemeni mother, shares the painful reality of her life after being forced to flee her home, leaving everything behind. She says, "It was a very distressing time. We couldn’t take anything with us when we left, not even blankets or flour. We even left the doors open in our haste to leave."

UNHCR teams are working around the clock to deliver more lifesaving assistance to refugee families like Saeedah's, providing cash assistance, shelter and safety. But this critical work is only possible with the help of supporters like you.

Refugee families need you.

➡️ 4.5 million people remain displaced in Yemen, one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

➡️ 5.2 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Türkiye, and 6.8 million internally displaced Syrians need urgent assistance.

➡️ Rohingya refugeesthe world’s largest stateless population—have spent over 8 years in exile, struggling for basic rights.

➡️ Nearly 3 million people have fled Sudan to neighboring countries, overwhelming already vulnerable communities.

➡️ Over 5.53 million Afghans are refugees or in refugee-like situations, with millions more displaced within the country.

With the rise in global humanitarian crises, the need for us to come together as a community is stronger than ever before. Your gift provides a displaced family with food, clean water, and safety. This Ramadan, please open your heart to refugee families who have so little.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
