Montana Moving To Close Loophole

and Make Assisted Suicide Illegal

 

The Montana State Legislature passed SB 136, a bill to close the dangerous legal loophole that allows assisted suicide to be practiced, at the second and third reading. SB 136 now moves to the House and we must continue to educate on the dangerous, discriminatory, and deadly practice of assisted suicide.

Assisted Suicide Will Undermine Suicide Prevention

"A group of 24 experts said they were “alarmed” by the speed with which the legislation was being pushed through parliament and that it should be 'overwhelmingly rejected.' They argued that the bill could put pressure on patients who were lonely or grieving, or felt like a burden, to take their own lives instead of accessing psychological or psychiatric support.
