NASN2025 Justification Toolkit Now Available

The NASN2025 Justification Toolkit provides compelling reasons to attend NASN2025 Stronger Together In-Person in Austin, Texas, June 26 - 29, online for the Virtual event July 7 - 9, or both. The Toolkit includes an editable template letter for communicating with administrators or employers about how attendance benefits the entire school community. Registration opens this month!

Students with seizures and epilepsy should be able to participate to the full extent of their abilities in all academic, physical education, and extracurricular activities. NASN's School Nursing Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG): Students with Seizures and Epilepsy aims to provide best practice recommendations and strategies for implementation by school nurses to improve outcomes and provide high-quality care to students with seizures and epilepsy. An Implementation Toolkit is also available to provide you with template care planning tools and educational materials to assist in implementing the CPG recommendations into practice.

A new HCPLive^® article highlights a study analyzing more than 1.5 million pediatric patients. The study revealed significant associations between SARS-CoV-2 infection and gastrointestinal (GI) issues. The findings emphasize the importance of considering COVID-19 history in evaluating persistent GI symptoms in pediatric patients. Read the article.

American Nurse, the official journal of the American Nurses Association conducts the annual All-Pro Nursing Team Award to provide nursing teams from any setting with the opportunity to describe projects focused on patient safety, improved outcomes, nurse wellness, staff retention, and more. What have your nursing teams been up to this year? Submit your application by February 28, 2025, and tell them what makes your school health team All Pro.

Prevent Blindness calls for nominations for the “2025 Jenny Pomeroy Award for Excellence in Vision and Public Health,” and the sixth annual “Rising Visionary Award.” The submission deadline for both awards is March 10, 2025. School nurses are encouraged to apply as true vision and eye health champions who provide vision screenings and link families to eye care resources and providers. Learn more and submit.
