President's Message

During Black History Month, we honor and celebrate the invaluable contributions of African Americans throughout our history, including those who have transformed the nursing profession. The legacy of the iconic leaders in nursing and medicine who broke barriers and paved the way continues to inspire, influence, and motivate current and future medical professionals.

February also marks National Children's Dental Health Month, and this year, the American Dental Association is offering new materials to celebrate and promote children's dental health this month and throughout the year. Schools and school nurses can play a vital role in improving the oral health of students and their families. Oral health issues can impact regular school attendance and academic performance. To support oral health initiatives, you can visit NASN's oral health page, which serves as a comprehensive resource for oral health education materials, continuing education opportunities, and information on partners and protocols for prevention and treatment programs.
