Dear Friend,
Your State Freedom Caucuses continue to do amazing work on your behalf. Before we get to the highlights below, please check out my latest op-ed in The Federalist. While we don't have a freedom caucus in Texas and Florida (yet), we've been tracking the shenanigans that have been going on in those two states with Democrats and liberal Republicans conspiring to defeat conservative reforms. Key excerpt:
"Washington, D.C., isn’t the only swamp that needs draining. There are 50 swamps in the 50 state capitols, and they are spiraling out of control. Recent events have made this clear, and their actions should alarm all of us."
ARIZONA
The Arizona Freedom Caucus is on a roll. They've been sponsoring and passing great legislation. Here are a few examples:
All AZFC members co-sponsored HB 2703, which passed the House and Senate this week. It would make Arizona elections more like Florida elections - more secure procedures with results actually released on election night! The bill will now head to the Democrat Governor's desk. The AZFC has demanded that she sign it or she will own the mess that the state is currently in.
Meanwhile, the AZ House just passed another AZFC-sponsored bill - HB 2081 - which would implement President Trump's "No Tax on Tips" at the state level.
The AZ House also passed HCR 2002, which would get rid of "vote centers", and return to precinct voting. Democrats love vote centers because it's confusing to voters and offers more opportunities for fraud. This bill would bypass the governor and go straight to the ballot for approval by the voters.
Finally, AZFC Chairman Jake Hoffman got the Democrats to say the quiet part out loud in a committee hearing. They want non-citizens to be counted as part of the U.S. Census. Watch the viral video here.
WYOMING
The Wyoming Freedom Caucus successfully pushed all of their top priorities through the WY House. "Crossover Day" has arrived, marking the second half of the legislative session. This means the WY Senate now has to decide if they want to join the WYFC in sending conservative reform bills to the Governor, or continue to defy the voters. Here's a fun excerpt from a recent local news hit:
The [Wyoming Freedom Caucus] reported significant progress on key legislative priorities. Rep. John Bear, R-Gillette, highlighted the swift passage of five critical bills within the first eight days of the session, surpassing an initial 10-day goal. These bills include measures on election integrity, such as requiring proof of residency and U.S. citizenship to vote, which passed with votes of 51–8 and 53–6, respectively.
Additionally, legislation banning ESG — environmental, social and governance — investments of taxpayer dollars passed 44–16, and a bill prohibiting the issuance of driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants was approved 45–15. A proposal offering a 50% property tax cut also passed with a 40–20 vote.
One last highlight in Wyoming. Liberal Republican Rep. Lloyd Larsen went to the House floor to argue that Wyoming taxpayers must continue to fund alcohol-infused R-rated drag shows because Jesus healed lepers. Watch his ridiculous floor speech here. Naturally, since the WYFC is in charge of the House, the bill to ban such funding for drag shows passed overwhelmingly.
MARYLAND
The Maryland Freedom Caucus held a press conference today with Congressman Andy Harris, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus in DC.
They are calling on the federal government to force the reopening of closed power plants shut down by the state's Democrat leaders. They are also calling for repeal of Maryland's Green New Deal and to close down Democrat Governor Wes Moore's idiotic "Climate Department".
We reject the conventional wisdom of, "Maryland is a blue state, we can't get anything done there." If we are going to take back this country, we need to provide NO quarter to dumb liberal policies, no matter where they are happening! Especially in Maryland where Gov. Moore's aspiration for the White House in 2028 is no secret in the state.
