IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE PARTY
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Republican Party of New Mexico encourages everyone to take precautions, practice safe health measures and do what’s required to protect oneself and families. The Party stresses that the health and safety of all New Mexicans are paramount. Therefore, the Party is currently conducting operations and communications remotely. The Party continues its mission and engagement, but will utilize virtual/remote practices for outreach, projects, campaign events and other initiatives.

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY!
Today New Mexico voters are flocking to the polls or dropping of absentee ballots at polling locations to elect nominees in federal, legislative and judicial races.
Here are some important reminders about about absentee ballots for the Primary:
Absentee ballots have to be in the Clerk's office by 7pm tonight, not postmarked. Don't risk it getting to your Clerk's office too late! Take your absentee ballot to a polling location. We are asking you to physically take your ballot to an in-person voting location to vote. Make sure your voice is heard in the 2020 Primary Election. Make your vote count!

WHAT'S HAPPENING
ALBUQUERQUE PROTEST OVER GEORGE FLOYD DEATH ERUPTS IN VIOLENCE
A protest in Albuqueque Sunday night triggered violence, fires and looting. Demonstrators were protesting against the police brutality in the death of George Floyd when things got out of hand. A peaceful protest is one thing, and encouraged, but when people use these protests as an excuse to wreak havoc, this behavior must be condemned. Gov. Lujan Grisham, despite her own Health Order prohibiting mass gatherings, did nothing. She and Mayor Tim Keller did little to protect residents and property when the violence broke out.
Here's the story from the Albuquerque Journal. ([link removed])

JEWELRY-GATE: GOV. LUJAN GRISHAM VIOLATES HER OWN PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER AND BUYS JEWELRY FROM SHUTTERED BUSINESS
No one is above the law, but the governor decided she could break her own public health order and go shopping. A KRQE investigative report reveals that days after she shut down non-essential businesses and sternly lectured New Mexicans to stay home, she discreetly used her political power to reopen an Albuquerque jewelry store to make a personal purchase. She violated her order and the public trust. What's worse, she and her inner cicrle continue to lie about what happened, suggesting it was permissible and that the buy was a "creative" way to help businesses.
Wrong.
She was deceitful, sneaky and there was no excuse. Just come clean, governor, and admit what you did.
Here's the story from Breitbart News which includes Chairman Pearce's national radio interview. ([link removed])

GOV. LUJAN GRISHAM MODIFIES PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER WHICH PARTIALLY OPENS DINE-IN RESTAURANTS
New Mexicans yesterday saw the partial reopening of restaurants, salons, gyms and other businesses, after the governor announced new relaxed rules pertaining to the pandemic. What the governor fails to see, however, is that her inequitable and haphazard methods continue to kill small businesses that have suffered for so long. Many establishments remain shut down. It's all part of the governor's illogical way of handing this ongoing crisis.
Here's the Chairman's statement on the governor's new rules:
"The governor's haphazard approach to reopening the state is hurtful and disastrous to New Mexicans. She seems to fling darts at an economic dartboard to determine who opens next and by how much. Tens of thousands of small businesses and houses of worship must still suffer at 25% capacity while other establishments reopen at 50%. There's no real method to this, and her inequitable and discriminatory decisions continue to kill our economy. New Mexico retailers are dying, as she gives out of state corporate giants our cash. The governor has offered no consistent strategy to help the little guy in the state in a fair way. It seems strange, too, that "technical difficulties" prevented the media from asking any questions the day after KRQE outed her for buying diamonds."
Here's the story. ([link removed])

BUSINESSES AND STATE LAWMAKERS RECEIVE THREATS
The Republican Party of New Mexico is outraged to learn that across New Mexico everyday people and small business owners have steadily been harassed or persecuted for adhering to their beliefs and defending their freedoms during this public health order. RPNM is well aware that many constituents fear exercising their civil rights lest they become targets of ridicule or threats. Some of these New Mexicans have elected to reopen their businesses to avoid bankruptcy or have chosen not to wear a mask, a choice they freely see as theirs. Our residents cannot live in fear of exercising their God-given rights and freedoms.
A number of mom-and-pop stores, which have asked not to be identified, tell RPNM they've received threatening calls, warning them not to reopen. Is this America? Is this freedom to conduct commerce? It's our right and their right to try to protect their livelihoods, civil rights and freedoms.

NEW JUDICIAL CANDIDATE CONTRIBUTIONS
We wanted to inform you that another conservative candidate, Thomas C. Montoya, is running for Court of Appeals, Position 3. Thomas's candidacy will mean conservative Republicans will be running for all three appellate seats.
Thomas, born and raised in New Mexico, has been practicing divorce and family law for more than 38 years. Thomas has an “A” preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. He’s been named in Southwest Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America and Best of the Bar for Family Law by New Mexico Business Weekly. He’s lobbied and testified more than 30 times on family law legislation and has acted as appellate counsel in a dozen cases. Thomas received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California.
The next step is for Thomas to collect 1,253 $5 contributions. State law requires this because Thomas, like our other judicial candidates, has decided on public funding. The contributions are part of the electoral process. If Thomas’s campaign gets the needed number of contributions, he will receive matching public funds.
By law, judicial candidates cannot ask for donations, nor can they accept contributions from interest groups.
The collected $5 contributions will go to the Public Election Fund.
Contributors can be ANY registered voter of any party, but it is imperative that they print their name and address on a Qualifying Contribution form as registered with the New Mexico Secretary of State.
Here’s the form for contributions. ([link removed])
The deadline for the 1,253 $5 contributions is June 10.
Any checks must be made payable to the Public Election Fund with Thomas’s name on the memo line or you can send cash.
The forms with enclosed contributions should be mailed to:
