This bill is a GAME-CHANGER for election integrity in Arizona, and I was proud to co-sponsor it alongside my colleagues. With this legislation, we’ve taken a BOLD step to ensure that foreign entities can no longer funnel money into our elections to manipulate ballot measures.
This victory didn’t come easy. The establishment and powerful special interests fought us every step of the way. But I refused to back down. I stood strong, worked alongside my fellow conservatives, and helped push SB 1142 through the legislature to protect your voice at the ballot box.
Here’s what this bill does:
-Bans foreign corporations and individuals from funding ballot initiatives that could alter our laws, Constitution, and way of life.
- Requires political committees to certify under penalty of perjury that they have not received foreign funds—no loopholes, no hidden influences.
- Exempts sovereign tribal nations while keeping outside interests from interfering in our state’s elections.
With SB 1142, we’re sending a clear message: Arizona’s elections belong to Arizonans.
