Donald Trump has fired 17 inspectors general, independent watchdogs meant to hold the government accounting.
Democrats are calling it a “chilling purge!”
Donald Trump just FIRED the inspector general who exposed the devastating impact of his cuts to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Why? Because the report proved what we already knew — Trump’s reckless cuts are leaving taxpayer-funded humanitarian aid to rot while people suffer. Nearly $500 million in food aid is at risk of spoiling thanks to his policies.
He’s done the same to 17 other inspectors general. Simply put, anybody who tries to hold him accountable is being fired.
