You're invited to The Engagement Party at Oldham Coliseum
From Tuesday February 18 to Saturday February 22, join us at The Engagement Party for a night of love, laughter and drama.Â
Â
Written by Afshan D’Souza-Lodhi and directed by Amanda Huxtable, this immersive show at Oldham Coliseum is one big rollercoaster of emotions.
Meet Zack, a nature-loving foodie and Sofia, a city girl. Their love story began in a chicken shop in Oldham, but things are starting to get complicated.
Â
When they’re missing from their own engagement party, tensions rise and the guests have to keep the party alive.
Expect live music, lots of drama, and plenty of surprises. It’s a mix of Coronation Street and Britain’s Got Talent – with a soundtrack that’ll get you dancing.
Pay What You Choose – Tickets from £10-£25. Book now by clicking [here.]([link removed])

Meet the best friends who set up a much-loved before and after school clubÂ
Â
Mums Bethany Dale and Sophie Byrne are making a big impact on the lives of young children after launching a popular before and after school club.
Â
The best pals are owner mangers of Little Saplings at their children's school, St Paul's Primary in Royton.
Â
They launched the club, which also runs in the school holidays, in September 2021 after recognising a need with headteacher Hilary Henderson.
Â
Sophie explained: "We worked closely with Mrs Henderson to launch a club where children from reception could see familiar faces from around the school. The older ones take them under their wings like mother hens."

Are you looking for an apprenticeship opportunity like Joshua did?Â
Â
It's National Apprenticeship Week and we’re sharing the journey of Joshua Sexton, a Higher Apprentice in Project Management with our Get Oldham Working team, to inspire others.
Â
After finishing Ashton Sixth Form College in 2024, Joshua was on the hunt for a career where he could give back to the town he calls home.Â
Â
Joshua found a role on Greater.Jobs and now, as a Higher Apprentice, he’s working towards a Level 4 qualification in Project Management while helping to support residents find work.Â
Â
He said: "I hadn’t really given any thought to going down the apprenticeship route, but when I looked at the job description, the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as well as gaining a qualification that I could use throughout my working life, felt like an excellent opportunity."
