Dear Friend,
It’s clear that the Trump administration is intent on reshaping the United States into a country run by and for corporations -- with fewer and fewer protections for people like you and me.
As the director of Corporate Accountability’s Water campaign, I know how disastrous it can be when corporations take over public services.
The abuses of the private water industry are well-documented. Outrageously high bills, service shutoffs, infrastructure neglect -- these are just some of the ways that communities suffer when water systems are privatized. And we’ve seen this happen again and again, including in cities like Pittsburgh, and as far away as Dakar, Senegal.
No person should be left without safe water. Not because their water bills are unaffordable, not because their water is contaminated, not because their nearest water sources are an hour's walk away -- not for any reason.
At its core, our water campaign is about building and bolstering a movement to protect one of our most essential human rights from corporate capture and profiteering. And making a gift to Corporate Accountability is one more way for you to organize towards impact with us.
Right now, we need just 50 of our supporters to make a gift to our winter campaign -- which provides the critical resources we need to plan, launch, and sustain campaigns that protect the human right to water.
The consequences of water privatization are devastating. So will you join us? Make a gift to Corporate Accountability today and together, we will protect the human right to water in the U.S. and around the world in the months -- and years -- to come.
