The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women   Weekly Wrap February 14, 2025  This Week's Highlights   Rollins Confirmed Yesterday, the Senate confirmed Brooke Rollins by a bipartisan 72-28 vote to be the next Secretary of Agriculture. Rollins, a Texas native and former White House policy advisor, is the second Republican woman in history to lead the Department of Agriculture. Among her first priorities are ensuring that economic aid reaches farmers impacted by recent natural disasters and working with state officials and agricultural commissioners to combat the spread of bird flu. Gabbard Makes History In another historic confirmation, Tulsi Gabbard became the first female combat veteran to serve as Director of National Intelligence this week. Gabbard currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserve and previously spent four years representing Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District in the House of Representatives. McMahon Makes Her Case Linda McMahon, the former Small Business Association Administrator and longtime friend of Winning For Women, testified yesterday before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. Throughout the hearing, McMahon reiterated her dedication to maintaining vital educational services and highlighted the importance of reducing waste while improving program effectiveness. She also warned of the failures of maintaining the status quo at the Department of Education and the need for major reform. De La Cruz's Legislative Win On Monday, the House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) authored called the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act. Her bipartisan legislation aims to ensure that disabled veterans receive the housing benefits they have earned and deserve.
