John,
We wish we could wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day but for the 2 million displaced civilians with Gaza today is anything but happy.
As Americans buy flowers, make dinner reservations, and prepare for quality time with their loved ones, Palestinians are still internally displaced within Gaza waiting on food and medical aid that Israel might never allow to arrive.
It has been three weeks since the supposed “ceasefire” was announced and yet Israel has bombed Gaza almost every day since then and hasn’t let any food or medical supplies into the Gaza Strip.
The scale of this catastrophe is already unspeakable and now Donald Trump wants to make things even worse by forcing Palestinians out of Gaza entirely so that he and his son-in-law can build resorts.
We know that every day since Trump was sworn in has been hectic and that it can be hard to keep track of everything that’s happening in the news, but today let’s hold space for the people who can’t be with their loved ones on Valentine’s Day because Netanyahu’s war killed them.
It might be Valentine’s Day, but there’s no love here for “progressives” who fail to call out Trump’s plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza and who enable Israel’s war crimes. We need contributions from grassroots donors like you to clean up the Progressive Caucus. Can you donate $10 or whatever you can spare to help us make the Congressional Progressive Caucus truly representative of progressive values?
