We are excited to share this month's
upcoming events with you! Please see below for information on
events, highlights, and updates.
Black History
Month

Black History Month is a time to
reflect, honor, and celebrate the rich heritage, resilience, and
accomplishments of Black Americans. From civil rights leaders and
trailblazing politicians to groundbreaking innovators and cultural
icons, Black history is American history.
Now more than ever, we must continue to uplift
Black voices, recognize their invaluable contributions, and work
toward a future that truly embodies equity and justice.
This month, and every month,
we encourage you to support Black-owned businesses, read Black
authors, amplify Black activists, and advocate for policies that
advance racial justice. Together, we can honor the past while building
a more just and equitable future.

February Young Dem of the
Month

Congratulations to our February
Young Dem of the Month, Jordan Lewis! Jordan is the Community
Service Director of the New Jersey Young Democrats and Outreach Chair
of the Mercer County Young Democrats.
He graduated from Johnson C. Smith
University in 2014 with a degree in Criminology and a minor in
Pre-Law. He later earned his Master of Public Affairs and
Administration from Rutgers University-Newark in 2022, becoming the
first in his family to earn a graduate degree. His dedication to
leadership and service is reflected in his role as a District Agent
for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and his recognition as a
Congressional Black Caucus Institute alumnus.
Professionally, Jordan serves as the
District Director for Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman,
representing New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District. In this role,
Jordan supports constituent services, district-wide programs, and
legislative initiatives, continuing a career in public service that
began as a Constituent Service Representative and Internship
Coordinator in the Congresswoman’s office.
A proud brother of Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity, Inc., Jordan has held key roles within the organization,
including Political Action Chair and Social Action Chair. He was also
recently selected for a prestigious leadership training fellowship,
where he looks forward to gaining additional tools and resources for
community advocacy and growing as a leader in the State of New Jersey.
Residing in Ewing Township, NJ, Jordan is deeply committed to public
service, volunteering with veteran programs, and supporting political
campaigns. Let's celebrate our February Young Dem of the Month!
