This is what we’re up against.
Earlier this week, I put forward common-sense legislation to remove San Diego County’s extreme “Super Sanctuary” status—a policy that goes beyond California’s sanctuary state laws and blocks local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE, even when dealing with convicted violent criminals like rapists, child abusers, and burglars.
Let me be clear: These aren’t just illegal immigrants. These are criminals who have been arrested, convicted, and sentenced. Under the current policy, they would be released back into our communities instead of being deported.
And yet, the measure failed.
This is crazy. Over 80% of Americans agree—violent criminals should be removed from our communities. But politicians who are out of touch with reality are putting dangerous individuals ahead of your safety.
