**Denied, Disqualified, Done: Carolyn King Arnold’s Last Stand Fails**

Carolyn King Arnold’s attempt to defy term limits and secure another term on the Dallas City Council has officially come to an end. After serving four terms, Arnold was ruled ineligible to run again under

**Proposition E**, a charter amendment passed in November 2024 that caps council members at four two-year terms. Undeterred, she took her case to court, but a

**last-minute legal challenge wasn’t enough to keep her on the ballot**.

Rather than accepting the voters' decision, Arnold

**filed an emergency appeal on March 3, 2025**, arguing that Proposition E should not apply retroactively to past terms. However, the

**Dallas city secretary had already determined her ineligible in January 2025**.

The

**Fifth Court of Appeals swiftly denied her request on March 7, 2025**, not even ruling on the merits of her argument but simply stating that she had waited too long to take action.

The enforcement of term limits signals a clear message:

**career politicians can’t stay in power forever**. While Arnold tried to cling to her seat, the legal system upheld the rules that Dallas voters approved.

**The people wanted change, and the courts ensured it happened.**

District 4 is moving forward without Arnold on the ballot.

**Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!**

Dallas City Council elections are approaching, but turnout is expected to be low again [link removed]—just 8% in 2023. With so few voters showing up, races are often decided by just a handful of ballots.

**Your vote carries far more weight in local elections than in national ones.**

Dallas Police Academy Plan Changes—At What Cost? [link removed]

**Apartment-Side Encampment**

**"**

Right next to this apartment complex, a growing encampment is likely making life miserable for residents. Tents, trash, and the crime that follows have turned their neighborhood into a hotspot for illegal activity. Imagine paying rent only to have this right outside your door.

**Councilman Jesse Moreno, do the people living here deserve to feel unsafe in their own homes, or will you finally put a stop to this?**

**District 6, Councilman Omar Narvaez**

**"Tower of Trash"**

A makeshift pile of junk, shopping carts, and debris now sits stacked under this overpass off Webb Chapel. This isn’t just one person’s belongings—it’s a growing collection of waste that will only attract more chaos.

**Councilman Omar Narvaez, how long before this turns into yet another full-blown encampment under your watch?**

**District 10, Councilwoman Kathy Stewart**

**"Underpass Living Room"**

What was once a simple underpass on Royal Ln has now become a fully furnished outdoor shelter. Mattresses, furniture, and personal belongings line the walkway, turning this space into a permanent residence.

**Councilwoman Kathy Stewart, is this what “urban living” is coming to in District 10?**

**Mission Statement:**

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
