Team, Big Oil spent $450 million to elect Trump—and now they're getting their reward.
Lee Zeldin, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), officially abandoned the EPA's mission to protect the environment and Americans' public health yesterday.
His announcement—promising to undo decades of the EPA's most significant environmental and public health regulations—was harrowing. For the last 54 years, the EPA has safeguarded Americans from the dangers of air and water pollution, enforcing national standards and environmental laws. Now, in one day, Zeldin has sold out our health and safety to give Big Oil and Gas a blank check to pollute our environment.
During the last Trump administration, we faced challenges just like this—and we know that the best way to win is together. Will you make a donation to support EnviroVoters' proven work as California spearheads this critical fight against Zeldin and the Trump Administration?

Zeldin's plans to 'unleash American energy' are nothing more than a promise to side with Big Oil and Gas over the American people. If he gets his way, he'll eliminate clean energy choices and repeal our most significant environmental and public health regulations.
These attempts to put Americans' health and environment at risk are horrifying, but the fight is far from over. Zeldin's announcements—while threatening—don't carry the weight of law yet. To overturn everything he wants, Zeldin will first have to spend months (or even years) in the EPA's rulemaking process.
However, Zeldin is already following through on Trump’s promises to Big Polluters and his wealthy friends. He's illegally canceled billions of dollars in already-promised climate grants to nonprofits through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. And he terminated all of the EPA's Environmental Justice offices, employees, and programs—which for three decades have worked to ease the disproportionate pollution risks faced by poor communities and communities of color.
We're planning to fight him every step of the way through litigation, state action, and global leadership to prevent his threats from becoming a reality. Will you donate to our California Defiance Alliance Fund and give us the resources we need to take on these powerful opponents?
It's worth remembering that while Zeldin and the Trump Administration are turning their backs on the American people, there are 18 thousand employees in the EPA who have dedicated their careers to protecting the environment and public health. We're fighting for them, for our environment, and for the health and safety of our communities.
The road ahead is long, but it's not without hope—especially with supporters like you fighting by our side.
Thanks for being part of this movement,
