Last week in Tallahassee was the start of session and Palm Beach County Days. Each year, usually the first 2 days of session, the County Staff organizes networking events with elected officials, staff, and other leaders to give anyone the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships. There is also time during the days to schedule private meetings with smaller groups. It was an honor to lead a Republican Delegation where we had our own scheduled meetings. The Republican Executive Committee members that attended were Jenine Milum, Page Lewis, Jessica Jansen, Stuart Jansen, Bill Riley, Rocco Talarico, and Al Cacace. It was wonderful to have such a strong Republican presence! Everyone around the county and state is seeing that we are turning red and will continue the momentum!!
We had official meetings with AG James Uthmeier, CFO Jimmy Patronis, Representative Mike Caruso, Representative John Snyder, Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power and Executive Director Bill Helmich, as well as informal meetings with many more leaders. We also got a private tour of the floor of the House of Representatives.
There was also an opportunity for us to sit through committee meetings to get a better understanding of how the process works.
If anyone is interested in visiting Tallahassee, you don’t have to wait until next year. The Reps, Senators, members of the Executive Branch, and RPOF, are always willing to meet.
If there are bills or topics you are interested in, please reach out to me and we can discuss them. We can track bills, talk to the sponsors of the bill or other parties involved, even testify in favor or against when they are in front of committees. There is a lot that we, as citizens, can do to effect change at a State level. It is our responsibility, and they want to hear from us.
