In Trump’s America, Big Oil pulls the strings.

That’s why Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency’s next move is to slash climate programs at the Pentagon — because protecting military bases from extreme weather events doesn’t serve fossil fuel profits. Experts warn these cuts could put troops and operations at risk, but Trump’s team doesn’t care.

When CNN pressed the administration on this, Trump’s Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth scoffed: “The Department of Defense does not do climate change crap.” A department spokesperson even attacked climate policies as “Climate zealotry” and “woke chimeras of the Left.”

But this isn’t just about the military or national security. It’s about an extremist, fossil fuel-driven agenda infiltrating every part of our government. This is Project 2025 in action. Trump’s allies are executing a plan to overhaul the entire federal government, consolidate power, and erase environmental protections from the inside out.

It’s why Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Agreement and isolated us from global climate action. It’s why he’s fast-tracking drilling in the Arctic and clear-cutting national forests, gutting environmental protections under the guise of a “national energy emergency.” And he’s even fired about 800 NOAA employees, including staff at the National Weather Service — stifling our ability to track extreme weather.

Trump and his fossil fuel allies are betting that we’ll sit back and let them bulldoze every climate protection in sight. We won’t. We’re building the power to elect leaders who will stop them — in Washington, state legislatures, city councils, governor’s mansions, and every other level of government nationwide.
