President's Message

I'm excited to announce that the first episode of NASN's new podcast, Beyond Bandaids, is now available for you to listen to! Hosted by NASN CEO Terri Hinkley, EdD, MBA, BScN, RN, CAE, who leverages her passion for school nursing, leadership, and policy, the monthly series will spotlight the voices of school nursing advocates, explore key policy issues, and share strategies that strengthen the profession.

In the inaugural episode, Hinkley welcomes NASN's Director of Government Affairs Piper Largent and Senior Policy Advisor at Venable LLP Jim Twaddell for an engaging discussion on NASN's 2025 advocacy priorities, empowering school nurses to navigate policy changes and drive transformative impact.

A recurring theme in the episode is the power of storytelling in advocacy. "When school nurses share real-life stories of how their work impacts students, paired with data-driven insights, it resonates with decision-makers," Largent explains.

You can watch the podcast on NASN's YouTube channel or listen to it on Spotify

Sleep Awareness Week® Is Here
