| Friend, Congressional Republicans are about to officially give President Trump and Elon Musk more power to gut government staffing, funding, and services. The House just passed a dangerous Continuing Resolution bill by a razor-thin margin of 217-213, with almost every Republican voting in favor and Democrats standing firmly against it.(1) This is not a normal budget resolution.This Continuing Resolution would increase defense spending by $6 billion, cut $13 billion in nondefense domestic spending, and give President Trump and Elon Musk's new "Department of Government Efficiency" unprecedented power to dismantle major portions of the federal government without congressional oversight.(2) This resolution now heads to the Senate for a final that will determine whether California's working families face devastating cuts to essential services. A continuing resolution needs 60 votes to pass in the Senate, so Democrats have the power to negotiate a resolution that protects the funding and programs we rely on. Will you call your senators NOW and demand they vote NO on this terrible budget resolution?
