Dear members and supporters,
We are excited to announce Toward Care and Resilience, the next webinar in our series commemorating Grassroots Global Justice Alliance’s 20th anniversary and launching our national campaign and Transformative Organizing School.
Toward Care and Resilience (Webinar 2) Thursday, March 27, 2025 12:00–2:00 p.m. PT / 1:00–3:00 p.m. MT 2:00–4:00 p.m. CT / 3:00–5:00 p.m. ET
This webinar will focus on the fight for visionary solutions and transformative change to push back against repressive regimes. Learn from international allies who are advancing the movement for a more caring and sustainable world under far right authoritarian governments.
Last month, in our first webinar In Defense of Communities, international allies from Argentina, Brazil, and Mali shared their experiences defending themselves from fascism and imperialism.
- Josivaldo Oliveira from Brazil, a member of the Movement of Peoples Affected by Dams, talked how diverse, expansive, and autonomous popular fronts helped remove Bolsonaro from power, proving an effective way to pressure center governing forces.
- Alejandra Angriman from Argentina, a union leader and feminist affiliated with the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas, spoke about the critical role mass mobilization plays in resisting the repression of the right-wing Milei government responsible for dismantling movement-won social programs.
- Massa Koné from Mali, a peasant lawyer and spokesperson for Global Convergence of Land and Water Struggles in West Africa took us through defensive strategies to build movement infrastructure, like training community-based paralegals and regional cross-movement caravans.
Register now to join our next webinar on March 27 — Toward Care and Resilience — on fighting for visionary change under difficult conditions.
