 Dear Friend,
On Wednesday, February 26th, I will deliver my 2025 State of the State Address where I will lay out my plans to continue lowering costs, creating good-paying jobs, fixing our roads, and investing in our students and schools.
I hear from Michiganders across our state every day and have been listening to their concerns and ideas about what they need to build a good life in Michigan. From retired folks in the UP to working families in Metro Detroit, Michiganders want commonsense solutions that will make a real difference in their lives.
By working across the aisle over the past few years, we cut taxes by $1 billion for seniors and working families, fed every public-school student free breakfast and lunch at school, created tens of thousands of auto jobs, built a ton of housing, and fixed a lot of roads.
But we still face big challenges. There’s a lot of good work left to do, and I know that if we all play on the same team—Team Michigan—we can win. In my State of the State Address, my proposals will build on our years of strong, bipartisan progress and strategic, fiscally responsible leadership.
Let’s roll up our sleeves and keep getting things done.
Here’s how to watch live on Wednesday, February 26th:
Sincerely,
 Gretchen Whitmer
Governor

To make this year's State of the State Address the best it can possibly be, I asked young, creative Michiganders to come up with a design for the program cover with the theme, “Think Michigan.”
Students are welcome to use crayons, markers, paint, or any other material.
You still have a little time to submit your design. Please visit Michigan.gov/ArtContest and follow the instructions on the webpage. Submissions will be accepted exclusively through the online system and must be received no later than 11:59 PM tonight, February 14th.
