Gov. Murphy is taking action to prevent wildfires

Stronger. Fairer. Forward.

Team,

Last year, New Jersey saw over 1,400 wildfires, burning more than 11,000 acres across our state. With climate change creating drier conditions and longer fire seasons, we need to act now to protect our communities, forests, and wildlife.

Yesterday, Gov. Murphy hosted a roundtable on wildfire prevention in South Jersey — bringing together experts, local officials, and first responders to discuss minimizing the risk of devastating fires.

Wildfires aren’t just a problem out West. New Jersey had one of its most destructive wildfire seasons in over a decade last year, and 90% of the fires were caused by human activity. Gov. Murphy has renewed his commitment to stronger wildfire prevention efforts, including responsible land management, increased fire response resources, and public awareness initiatives.

But he needs your help. Sign the petition now to stand with Gov. Murphy and support his wildfire prevention efforts in New Jersey.

Together, we can protect our forests, safeguard our homes, and prevent another devastating wildfire season.

Thanks for taking action,
Stronger Fairer Forward
