Donald Trump and his allies are ramping up attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. They're pressuring major corporations to abandon their commitments to fostering fair and inclusive workplaces — some companies are already caving.
Boeing, Home Depot, JPMorgan Chase, and Walmart have already begun discontinuing their DEI initiatives in response to conservative backlash. That’s unacceptable. Equal opportunity isn’t a political bargaining chip — it’s a core value of our democracy that businesses should uphold, no matter who’s in power.
Thankfully, some companies like Apple and Costco standing by their committments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Research has shown that diverse workplaces drive innovation, improve employee satisfaction, and strengthen financial performance.
The corporations that are already getting rid of their DEI programs are bowing to Donald Trump and sending a dangerous message that fairness and equality are negotiable. We can’t let them get away with it.
