Unionville-Chadds Ford School District Superintendent John Sanville announced his resignation effective July 31, following criticism for permitting a self-identified "genderqueer witch" to survey high school freshmen about their sexual history without parental consent. Local parent Chad Williams, working alongside Pacific Justice Institute attorney Janice Lorrah, filed multiple complaints alleging violations of student privacy rights and public disclosure laws, leading to state and federal investigations into the district's actions.

On January 28, 2025, the South Dakota Senate approved a bill requiring public schools to display biblical teaching that builds stronger families, schools, and communities by mandating the posting of the Ten Commandments in classrooms.
