John, did you see this? Governor Walz is heading to Iowa tomorrow to do what Republicans are afraid to do: Give the American people someone to listen to and who gives a damn about what they have to say. His message is clear: Democrats will show up where Republicans won’t. We need to flood the zone, organize, and keep the pressure on to make sure voters know who’s fighting for them. I’m going to Iowa on Friday because now, more than ever, the American people deserve someone to listen to them and give a damn about what they have to say. While Republicans are doing President Trump’s dirty work—gutting critical programs and attacking our fundamental rights—they’re refusing to hold in-person town halls because they’re afraid of the backlash. Listen, I’m an eternal optimist, but I can’t ignore reality: Things are dire right now. People want to speak out, but their representatives are hiding in Washington. That’s unacceptable. Democrats need to fill the space. We need to organize and show up where Republicans won’t. That’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to listen to and amplify ideas that matter and I’m going to let voters know that if their Representative won’t show up for them, Democrats will. My biggest lesson from 2024? We need to flood the zone—on social media, in red districts and blue, and everywhere in between—and make sure every voice is heard.
