The Trump administration just fired over 1,300 employees from the Department of Education — gutting the vital agency that manages student loans, protects civil rights in schools, and ensures every child gets a fair shot at a quality education.

And it’s only getting worse: Trump’s Education Secretary has confirmed they’re planning an executive order to shut down the department entirely.
