Does your community receive odor complaints? Do you know what to do if you experience odor complaints in your community from industrial sources? Panelists for this discussion will include Brad Neumann, from Michigan State University (MSU) Extension, Greg Elliott from the City of Adrian, and Air Quality Division (AQD) staff. Brad is an Educator with MSU Extension with expertise in land use planning and zoning, community and economic development, and general governance topics and will be discussing how zoning and local ordinances can be developed and enforced in a community. Greg is the former City of Adrian Administrator and has experience on a local level handling odors from an industrial source. Greg will be discussing how he and the City of Adrian worked with EGLE to resolve odor issues in that community. AQD staff will discuss the rules for odors, and how odors are investigated and enforced. Join the panel for a discussion on how odors from various industrial sources are handled on the local and state level and hear about additional resources that may be available for use.
