Happy Black History Month,
John!

Every February, we’re reminded that Black history is American history each
and every single day — and not just limited to one month of the year.

As the country continues to diversify, political representation isn’t
keeping pace. Black candidates and incumbents in particular face numerous
structural barriers to run in and win elections. We're looking to change
that, John.

work to elect more diverse and young candidates to office up and down the
ballot?

We helped to elect Nadarius Clark and Bryce Berry — who have since rolled
up their sleeves and delivered for their constituents.

In Virginia as a state delegate, Nadarius Clark has prioritized protecting
reproductive rights, reducing the costs of healthcare, housing, and
ensuring public schools are fully funded. He also wrote the bill to raise
teacher pay to the national average to attract and retain the best
educators.

Bryce Berry — the first Gen-Z member elected to the Georgia House was
elected last year on a platform to address gun violence and build an
economy that works for all Georgians. As the only active teacher in the
entire state legislature, his experience as an educator and community
organizer provide him with a unique background that is well suited to
serve the needs of his district.

John, it's
clear: having elected officials in office with an array of diverse
backgrounds benefits us all.

Leaders We Deserve is working toward a brighter and more equitable future
by helping to elect more Black and other diverse candidates to office up
and down the ballot, across the country. Your support will provide us with
