Justice for George Floyd. Care for the Twin Cities.

On Monday, May 25, George Floyd was murdered. On May 28, the chairs of Twin Cities DSA collaborated with the National Political Committee of DSA to release this statement on the murder and our path forward.

We continue to struggle to bring George Floyd's killers to justice, abolish the Minneapolis Police Department, and care for our city and community. As things keep changing on the ground, we've set up a form to connect volunteers with TCDSA organizers. Whether you're on the street or quarantining at home, we have places for you to direct your energy and contribute supplies:
  • Food distribution
  • Community defense
  • Medical help
  • TCDSA Solidarity Fund, reopening soon to give cash to community members in need, no strings attached
We're happy to connect with allied organizations too, and are directing volunteers to them where it's appropriate. Fill out this form and an organizer will get in touch:

Meanwhile, the best place to go for updates and calls to action is @TwinCitiesDSA on Twitter.

We've seen neighborhoods come together over the past week to protect themselves. We know that strong and well-resourced communities do not require repression, and by extension, repressive institutions to keep peace when there is justice. We will fight for a world where Black people can breathe freely and challenge ourselves to take greater responsibility for abolition, and the courage to pursue a just and liberated future.

Until we're all free,
Twin Cities DSA
