John —

The Minnesota Young DFL and the Young Democrats of America are thrilled to invite you to Minneapolis–Saint Paul from May 9-11, 2025, for a weekend in Minneapolis dedicated to building power, winning elections, and delivering real change.

In Minnesota, we proudly identify as members of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party, a unique identity from a rich history. The DFL was established in 1944 through the merger of the Minnesota Democratic Party and the Farmer-Labor Party, a progressive movement that championed the rights of farmers and laborers in the early 20th century. This merger created a party deeply rooted in advocating for working families and progressive values, a legacy that continues to influence Minnesota's political landscape today.

During the last legislative session, Minnesota's DFL-led trifecta demonstrated the profound impact of unified leadership. We enacted historic protections for reproductive rights, expanded voting access, strengthened labor protections, advanced climate initiatives, and invested significantly in working families. However, while the nation trended right, we held our ground in Minnesota—but the Minnesota House ended up in a tie, underscoring the critical need to protect our progress and continue building on our achievements.

Throughout the weekend, attendees will engage with campaign strategists, elected officials, and grassroots organizers to explore what it takes to build enduring. As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond, this meeting serves as a call to action for Young Democrats to apply some of the lessons learned in Minnesota nationwide.

The journey to power extends beyond winning elections—it's about building a lasting movement. Join us in Minneapolis from May 9-11 as we chart the future of Democratic leadership, grassroots organizing, and the pursuit of progress.

We look forward to seeing you in the Twin Cities! For all the details and updates about the Spring Meeting, visit our one-stop resource at www.yda.org/ydamsp.
