![]() Did you see this last week? (I mean, with an agenda that includes gutting Social Security and Medicaid, firing thousands of federal employees who keep our communities safe, and propping up an unelected billionaire who is trying to take over the government, I’m not surprised these guys are afraid to face their constituents.) Listen, in these jobs, half the battle is just showing up and listening. You can’t represent your community if you aren’t there to understand the issues that matter most. When I served in the Oregon State Legislature, I used to hold “Taco Town Halls” where I’d chat with constituents over a taco dinner. I’d also hold “Walking Town Halls” where I’d walk the high school track and constituents could sign up for individual time slots to walk and talk with me. Whether it was walking the track or devouring tacos, the idea was always the same: It was all about showing up and listening. I showed up, just as I was elected to do. I can’t imagine it any other way. You deserve representatives — whether on the local, state, or federal level — that have your back. That begins with just showing up. So, if you’re able, will you chip in $5, $25, or more to ensure Oregonians can continue to have a Representative who will always, always, always show up?
Thanks for having my back, too, Janelle |
