Believe it or not, it’s been almost 23 years since I started Daily Kos! I
wanted to build something that didn’t exist—a home for progressives who were
tired of being ignored (and misinformed) by the media and dismissed by the
establishment.

I never imagined it would grow into what it is today. But you made that
happen. You found this community as special as I did—a refreshing oasis in a
hostile media and political landscape.

And yet, decades later, we’re still fighting the same battle. The media
landscape is collapsing. Ad-based models are dead. Newsrooms are shutting down
left and right. And yet, the same people who control everything else—the
billionaires, the right-wing media barons, the corporate gatekeepers—are
tightening their grip.

We could’ve been next. But we have something they don’t—you. You are the
reason we can still fight.

This community isn’t just an audience. It’s a movement. It’s millions of
people who refuse to let MAGA billionaires decide what news we get to see.
Today, nearly 80% of our revenue comes from donations from people like you—and
that’s why Daily Kos is still here.

Now, Trump is back in the White House. Republicans are gutting democracy. The
