Republicans are coming for the poorest Americans, and we have to stop them.

Late last month, Republicans narrowly passed abudget resolution ([link removed]) in the House that called for $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and a $2 trillion reduction in federal spending over the next decade.

They’re well on their way to advancing Trump’s agenda, and SNAP and Medicaid are on the chopping block.

The calls for reduction in federal spending coupled with comments from some Republicans that they may target those critical programs means we may very well see them begin pushing for their defunding.

Let’s be clear: Every penny out of Medicaid is a deliberate choice to worsen healthcare outcomes for working American families, and every penny out of SNAP brings millions closer to starvation.

These programs are critical, and I refuse to let them be whittled away without a fight.
