We have to update you on some news about new legislation here in the Illinois State Legislature.
An ultra-conservative member of the Illinois Freedom Caucus has been inspired by the chaos happening in Washington, DC — and has introduced a piece of legislation to create a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) here in Illinois.
The issue isn’t just the legislation, FName, but something far greater. Republicans have spent the last 20 years building their base and sourcing candidates who will toe the party line no matter what, no matter where.
Especially at the local level.
Republican candidates for school board and county commission and library board are recruited and supported – and the party has been doing this for decades.
So now we’re seeing chaos in DC perfectly replicated in our county councils and school boards – because those candidates were primed and ready. T hose candidates are prepared to pass legislation like DOGE right under our noses, and are hoping they won’t face an opposition as organized as they are.
That ends now.
