In alignment with our mission, TakeCharge is expanding nationwide, and we are excited to announce our new Executive Director, TakeCharge Expansion, Vincent Mathews Jr.

Vincent Mathews, Jr. is happily married to his wife, Sharon Denise Mathews, and they reside in Mississippi. God has blessed them with 11 children (8 boys and 3 girls).

Together with his wife and family, he lived and served in South Africa for 12 years. He also founded the fast-growing Tabernacle Church in Southaven Mississippi in 2020. Tabernacle has over 50 ministries, including a Christian School Washington Tabernacle Christian Academy (Preschool to 9th grade).

Vincent previously served as President of the Church Of God In Christ World Missions. He had the responsibility to oversee humanitarian work, disaster relief, and church planting in 110 countries worldwide. Vincent graduated from Wayne State University (B.A.), University Of Illinois (M.A.) and North Carolina College Of Theology (Doctor of Theology). He was a Fulbright Fellow while studying African Language (Swahili) at The University Of Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania). While Mathews has won numerous awards he declares that his primary goal in life is to hear God say, “Well Done My Good And Faithful Servant”.

We are blessed to have Vincent Mathews Jr. join our team where he will work to further our mission across the country.
