In Illinois and beyond, Ben Head’s tireless work and dedication have led to to be regarded as among the absolute best organizers in America. I can’t think of someone more deserving!
Ben has spent his entire adult life working to strengthen and mobilize our party – here in Illinois specifically, but also around the country. He has managed dozens of winning Democratic campaigns here in Illinois, including some of the toughest. For the last ten years, I have had the pleasure (and distinct advantage) of counting on Ben as my campaign manager and political director. In that time he has organized and trained the largest, most highly effective volunteer corps in Illinois through the Schakowsky Organizing Academy.
Ben’s passion for teaching and mentoring up and coming leaders doesn’t end with the hundreds of students that have graduated from the Schakowsky Organizing Academy.
Through Men4Choice, an organization Ben co-founded in 2015, the New Leaders Council, Democracy for America, Build the Bench, and the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association, he has trained and mobilized over a thousand young leaders into concrete progressive action.
Most recently, Ben co-founded and managed Operation Swing State, a project that brought 80 partners in Illinois together to produce over 10,000 volunteer shifts in nearby swing states to knock over a quarter million doors, making it the largest interstate volunteer mobilization in Illinois history.
