Elon Musk falsely claims millions on US Social Security are over 100
Yesterday, Musk shared data in an Twitter post claiming that over 20 million people aged between 100 and 159 are still eligible for social security payments. "According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real, and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security," wrote the billionaire bozo. While this is certainly a convenient narrative for Musk, who is doggedly intent on gutting the social safety net and leaving millions of people out to dry, the real explanation is pretty concerning. US government computer systems are run using the COBOL programming language, which is 60 years old and is not widely in use outside government. COBOL does not have a "date" type, so all dates are coded to a reference point, which often is 20th May 1875, when the "Convention du Mètre" international standards-setting conference was held in Paris. So if a date is missing, the system defaults to 1857, which would give the appearance of millions of centenarians on Social Security rolls. But Elon's team of Nazi children don't understand COBOL, so these idiots are misinterpreting the data to create the illusion of widespread fraud. Or maybe they do know, and they're just lying their asses off.

This could play a huge role in Judge Chutkan's looming decision on whether or not to bar Musk and his DOGE team from mucking about in the inner workings of the federal government.

Right-wing British paper The Telegraph claims that they've come into possession of a draft US-Ukraine deal that would give the US $b00 billion and involves the American management of Ukrainian rare earth minerals, as well as ports, infrastructure, and most of the country's resources, including oil and gas. "If this draft were accepted, Trump’s demands would amount to a higher share of Ukrainian GDP than reparations imposed on Germany at the Versailles Treaty...At the same time, he seems willing to let Russia off the hook entirely," writes the Telegraph. While this reporting hasn't been confirmed elsewhere, it certainly seems a very Trumpian demand — and it's clear that Trump is intent on cutting a deal that favors Russia and sidelines our own allies.

It's gotten to the point where New York Governor Hochul has begun considering whether or not to use her governor's power to forcibly remove him from office in the wake of mass resignations from top law enforcement officials over Adams' pay-for-play clemency deal. "The alleged conduct at City Hall that has been reported over the past two weeks is troubling and cannot be ignored," said Hochul in a statement. By all means, Governor, get this guy out of here! We cannot set the precedent of known criminals cutting deals with Trump to escape consequences.
