Tomorrow officially marks one week since Deb announced her campaign for
Governor of New Mexico.

If you’ve been following along, you know that we set ambitious goals for
this first week (which we’ll explain why shortly). With just 24 hours
left, we have a goal of raising $25,000 more between now and tomorrow.

So why does this goal matter?

* It allows us to build a strong foundation for our campaign: Hiring the
best team, setting up systems to recruit and track volunteers,
designing yard signs, setting up campaign offices, and traveling
across New Mexico – all of these things take tremendous resources to
set up and get off the ground.
* Time is of the essence: Many campaigns have faltered because they
waited too long to launch their organizing efforts. We can’t make that
mistake so we’re starting early.
* We’re sending a message: A strong showing of grassroots support right
out the gates sends a message to our opponents that our coalition is
organized and united around the values that Deb represents.
