Wyoming Cattle Producer to Serve as Region V Vice President of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
CHEYENNE, Wyo (Feb. 18, 2025) – Timmery Hellyer of Lander, will serve as the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Region V vice president from the Federation of State Beef Councils. Each NCBA Region is co-chaired by one producer from the Federation of State Beef Councils and one producer elected by policy members. The two serve together to represent checkoff and policy issues for each region. Additionally, each of the vice presidents serve on the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Executive Committee. Hellyer's new role began following CattleCon 2025, which was held Feb. 4-6, in San Antonio, Texas. Region V includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.
Hellyer has served as a director from Wyoming on the Federation of State Beef Councils for the past six years. The vision of the Federation of State Beef Councils is to build beef demand by inspiring, unifying and supporting an effective and coordinated state and national Checkoff partnership. It provides a voice for producers and qualified state beef councils (QSBCs) to collectively give direction to the Beef Checkoff.
“My time serving the Beef Checkoff has provided an opportunity for me to understand how I
can make a positive impact,” said Hellyer. “As Region V Federation vice president, I’m looking
forward to hearing producer perspectives as we work together to drive demand for beef.”
Among other duties, the regional vice president works closely with state beef councils,
coordinates regional activities, facilitates Federation Division regional elections and champions
Checkoff efforts within the region, especially state beef council engagement in the Federation.
Hellyer and her family own and operate Pokorny Ranch, a commercial cow-calf operation. The
family is also involved with other enterprises including hay production, feeding and
backgrounding. In addition to serving as a director on the Federation of State Beef Councils
where she is a member of the Checkoff Evaluation Committee and co-chair of the Beef Checkoff
Safety and Product Innovation Committee, Hellyer also serves on the Wyoming State Grazing
Board.
