** Friend,
------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t have to tell you how dire it currently is, nor how stressful it truly feels, for so many immigrant households across the U.S. right now.
With headline after headline of Trump’s efforts to begin carrying out mass deportations, many of us have felt afraid - understandably so. The last weeks have been a reminder that we have to continue working together as a community to keep us safe. As a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and proud daughter of immigrants, I have been working to help protect the people in my district and millions nationwide from these extremist xenophobic immigration policies.
I need your help today to keep my efforts going. It is the unwavering support of my community that allows me to take bold and principled stances in Congress. ([link removed])

We knew the consequences of this election. We knew what this would mean to communities and how destabilizing it would be for neighborhoods, for families, for women, for children, for fathers who just want to provide for their families. We’ve been preparing for it.
It’s why I have been working with community organizations, activists, and concerned community members to go up and down my district distributing “know your rights” information and talking to everyday people about how we can keep our communities safe. One man, the moment he saw me, pulled out his employment authorization card to prove to me that he had documentation. I said, “You don't have to do that. That's exactly why I'm here. I want you to know that you have the right to remain silent. You don’t have to open the door, and these are your rights”.
SUPPORT TODAY ([link removed])
This is the reality, this is why people like me need to be in Congress. This is why we are standing up to defend people from the violations of human rights that we’re already seeing through the reopening of Guantanamo. We must not normalize this. The consequences of silence could haunt our nation for decades to come. We need to be prepared, that is why I am working with grassroots organizers to respond to the potential raids and defend our communities.
That work can’t continue to be done without critical support from people like you. Your donation today of $30, $60, or even $90 will be what keeps my efforts going. We have a chance to keep our communities safe in a critical moment, all while providing a bold, progressive vision for the future. ([link removed])
Can I count on your support?
Best,
Delia
