Ten transgender students.
Ten transgender students participate in NCAA women’s sports. That’s it.
This is out of 500,000 students. Trump issued an Executive Order to bully, attack, and scapegoat TEN transgender students and ban ten athletes from playing sports. John, we’re floored too.
Trump is doing it under the guise of “protecting kids” but it’s a bald faced lie. This order is about hatred, discrimination, and bullying. How do we know? Well ten trans athletes playing sports has nothing to do with our safety. But thousands of children dying each year because of gun violence does. What does Trump have to say about that? He wants to undo every gun safety law he possibly can.
Trump doesn’t care about us, John. Thousands of us are dying, including trans children. That’s the real issue Trump should be focused on, but we know what he really cares about: money and power, at the expense of anyone. He’s trying to distract us.
The fact is, nothing kills more children in America every day than guns. What’s more, over 70% of homicides of trans people involved a firearm in 2024. We won’t fall for this BS.
John, we can’t let this become the new normal. We need to keep on fighting to defend all the progress we have made to protect our communities. We will not go back.
