Dear John,

We recently reached out about an anti-immigrant bill moving in Congress targeting Chicago, San Francisco, and other cities with welcoming policies that protect our communities from federal overreach. Now those attacks are expanding, as Congress is moving to vote on a budget reconciliation package that would slash funds for vital services across the country in order to funnel more money to Trump’s wasteful border militarization and mass deportation crackdown.

Can you take one more action to defend our communities and protect critical community funding?

Tell Congress to reject this harmful budget and invest in our communities instead!

The House and Senate will vote soon on a budget resolution that would put hundreds of billions of dollars toward detaining and deporting immigrants while crippling vital health, education, and nutrition programs for families and communities throughout the country. Some in Congress are trying to line the pockets of private prison companies and are giving Trump a blank check to further militarize immigration enforcement in our neighborhoods — while slashing critical programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and student loan relief.

Sincerely,
Azadeh Erfani
