The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Alright, alright, alright.

This is the week, you know.

This is where Elon, Trump, and the rest of MAGA either step up to the plate and actually do their jobs to keep the government open (big ask, we know), or fall into old habits and self implode.

Remember, these idiots control all three branches of government, including both chambers of Congress. Plus, they all worship the orange man. So, cards on the table, this really shouldn’t be that hard.

But this is MAGA. Everything they do is unnecessarily complicated. Sometimes it’s because of infighting or public scandals, but this time we think most of the blame has to go to the man in charge: Elon Musk.

The dude loves chaos at the expense of the common American. He’s taken a literal chainsaw to the budget with these new proposals, and budget officials are saying it’s impossible to make these kinds of cuts without cutting medicare. You know what’s really unpopular? People losing access to healthcare.

This could be the sole reason that our government closes for God knows how long. The richest guy in the world, who will never have to worry about healthcare a day in his life, wants to rip it away from this country’s poorest citizens. Classy as always.

And remember what a government shutdown means. It means millions of people not receiving paychecks. It means veterans not getting access to the programs they need. It means the federal government not doing what it was created to do: work.

While we’re not rooting for this, we will be here to hold these a**holes accountable. Americans need to know who's responsible for their missing paychecks and benefits. Elected officials were put in office to govern, not kiss up to billionaires.

This is a big test for MAGA. Help us be there to expose them if everything goes up in flames >>
