When David made the necessary decision to move to a fully virtual campaign for the foreseeable future, we knew that our job just got more difficult – the vast majority of our outreach and fundraising strategies are now off the table. But we also know that David has an incredible grassroots movement behind him, and when we wrote to you and asked you to step up and fill in these fundraising gaps, you answered the call. As we head into the summer months, we’ll be executing on the campaign plans we prepped (and then rewrote and then prepped again) to hold our House Majority, take back the Senate, and kick Trump out of the White House. And the success or failure of these plans depend on one thing: us. Voters disapprove of Trump’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and elections analysts have the House and Senate majorities narrowly leaning blue. But we know Trump has an unprecedented fundraising advantage, a propaganda network in outlets like Fox News and Breitbart, and a willingness to tell whatever lies and spin up whatever conspiracy theories he needs to turn out his base.
